Project Description:

The Joint Power Plant Inn (GKI) is the largest running-water-power-plant which was built in the alpine region the last years. It is formed on the upper Inn in Swiss / Austrian border. The water flows from the weir in Ovella up to the powerhouse in Prutz / Ried by a 23.2 km long headrace tunnel. Through an armored inclined shaft, the water hits the turbines in the powerhouse. The ARGE GKI Prutz / Ried was commissioned with the construction of an access tunnel, parts of the penstock route, the inclined shaft, the water tower shaft and the powerhouse.
