Project Description:
The construction works for the underground station U2/5 “Frankhplatz’” essentially comprises the following works:
- Conversion of existing U2 to operating tracks
- Section “Landesgerichtsstraße” as an open cut
- Station shafts "Frankhplatz" and "Schwarzspanierstraße"
- Two station tubes with a length of approx. 150 m each
- Two line tubes with a length of approx. 165 m (NÖT track 1) and approx. 72 m (NÖT track 2)
- Station crosscuts Q1 and Q2
- Connecting tunnel
- Inclined escalator shaft
- Escape route niches
The construction of the shaft and tunnel structures also includes series a of special construction measures (lowering of the groundwater, bored piles, DSV and settlement compensation).
