Project Description:

The construction project on the A12 Inntal Motorway in Tirol is being implemented as part of a project alliance. It comprises the excavation and construction of an approximately 6,698-meter-long escape and rescue tunnel, running parallel to the existing Landeck Tunnel.

In addition, 24 cross passages, portal structures, and other underground facilities will be excavated using conventional tunnelling methods and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Furthermore, the project includes comprehensive civil and electromechanical installations to meet the requirements of the Road Tunnel Safety Act and to ensure a sustainable improvement in traffic safety.

Construction works are scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025, with the complete refurbishment and final completion planned by December 2030. The project makes a significant contribution to the performance and safety of this vital east–west transport corridor in Tirol.
