Project Description:

In Austria's largest limeworks in Steyrling (municipality of Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn), limestone mining is making steady progress. The dismantling takes place in levels and the resulting overburden is used directly for further processing via a lintel shaft and an extraction cavern underneath using a conveyor belt.

In order to meet the new requirements, it is necessary to relocate the existing underground extraction devices towards the conveyor tunnel portal. For this purpose, the existing production tunnel will be expanded to a length of approx. 18 m so that the new extraction cavern with dimensions of 16 m x 10 m x 10 m (LxWxH) can be opened. Following this, a shaft base cavern with dimensions of 6 m x 5 m x 12 m (LxWxH) will be built below the new lintel shaft. The approximately 60 m deep lintel shaft No. 4 is then manufactured by a third party using the raiseboring process.
