On May 13, 2024, the “Arlinger Tunnel” was opened to traffic as part of the B 463 - Westtangente Pforzheim.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of our tunnel patron Monika Bloch, the Minister of Transport of Baden-Württemberg, numerous prominent politicians, employees of the Karlsruhe Regional Council and the contractors as well as media representatives and numerous guests.

The overall construction lot was very challenging due to the technical requirements, the construction lot includes the approx. 1,350m long Arlinger Tunnel, the approx. 1,000m long rescue gallery, the ventilation shaft with a depth of 32m, one ventilation cavern and one cavern for electrical equipment as well as all operating stations.

The consortium ÖSTU-STETTIN - JÄGER - REIF - GRÖTZ began construction works in 2019 and the work was successfully completed by today's opening despite difficult circumstances such as Covid 19, delivery bottlenecks, etc.
