On the second working day after the Christmas celebrations, we received good news from the City of Vienna – we received the order for the Wiental Kanal WSKE West project.

With the construction of the Wientalsammelkanal-Entlaster West, the City of Vienna wants to relieve the existing sewers and ensure water protection. The construction time for this technically and logistically interesting project is four years.

At the moment, the wastewater flows into the right and left sewers from the Wienfluss but during heavy rainfall these sewers reach their limit and the rainwater flows into the Wienfluss. In this construction project, an additional 9 km long tunnel along the Wienfluss will be built. This tunnel will relieve the sewer network during heavy rainfall and improve the water quality for the Wienfluss.

The works for the Wientalsammelkanal-Entlaster West will start in 2024 and the commissioning is planned for 2028.
